Based on the artistic medium in which small pieces of tile or glass are delicately placed to create a fuller picture, the concept of the mosaic examines the inner workings of our systematic world. We challenge our community to look closely at the individual unit and their place in the greater contexts to which they belong..

TEDxMSU is a collaboration between Michigan State University’s students, alumni, faculty, and friends, as well as the larger East Lansing community. The MSU community has many brilliant stories to share - and we want to bring them to center stage.

The conference will feature interdisciplinary presenters, including faculty, students, alumni, and other affiliates to the University, expressing their past experiences, current projects, and future visions to promote inquiry within the MSU community.

We keep TED’s mission of "Ideas Worth Spreading" close to our own: to spark change via conversation and interaction with ideas both here in East Lansing and in the futures of attendees.

Operating under the TED license, we will also make full use of livestream and media capabilities to reach as many individuals as possible even after the conference.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxMSU, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxMSU event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are independently organized.
